Classical Music / Arrangements These last years Sergio Molina has been asked to compose and arrange in classical language. Quaternaglia, a guitar quartet, has regularly performed (in Dallas, Belém, Rio de Janeiro, etc.) Sweet Mineira, composed in three movements on Milton Nascimento's themes that were suggested by the Cuban composer Leo Brouwer 1-Ponta de Areia, San Vicente e Variações; 2- Interlúdio no Cais; 3-Sonata Cravo e Canela. In 2003, Quaternaglia and the String Quartet of Brasilia performed Fantasia no Fubá by Sergio Molina, a new version of Tico-Tico no Fubá by Zequinha de Abreu based on Bela Bartok's composition techniques. Vocal Vesper (a women's vocal quintet) has just recorded two arrangements: Bem Baixinho by Luiz Tatit and Mamãe Natureza by Rita Lee. The CD will be launched in 2004. After having won with Lilian Jacoto in 2002 the National Contest for the composition of the Federal Justice Anthem, Sergio and Lilian composed the anthem of Uni-FMU of São Paulo. Other original pieces: Quarteto Um (for string quartet - 2002) Abertura Sincrética 2003 (for Symphonic Orchestra) At the moment Sergio is about to end a new arrangement for Quaternaglia: Aquarela do Brasil by Ary Barroso.
